Neighbors at Hawkins
From our beginning, Ekklesia has invested personnel and resources to partner with Hattiesburg Public
Schools at Hawkins Elementary to create Neighbors at Hawkins. Neighbors at Hawkins coordinates community
volunteers to effectively serve at Hawkins Elementary School. Neighbors assists in providing quality education to
all students at Hawkins Elementary by direct tutoring, volunteering and connecting financial resources to the needs
of teachers in the classroom. The program seeks to build self-esteem in students by mentoring, interacting with and
exposing students to new opportunities through extra-curricular activities (arts, sports, agriculture, summer camp, etc.).
We hope to aid in expanding the personal vision of students for themselves, their community and their world.
To sign up for any of the volunteer opportunities, contact

Invest in the life of one child. Mentors are asked to come have lunch at Hawkins with a student twice a month. It's a commitment, but the benefits are priceless! A relationship with you could open their world to countless possibilities!
Partner with a teacher through Prayer, Encouragement and Time! Build a personal relationship with one teacher by serving in their classroom, praying for their students and encouraging them!
